FOUNDER PREPARATION

Thank you for participating in this Redemptive Business Lab. As a founder we ask that you set aside intentional time to spend preparing. Here are a few suggestions on how to prepare, as well as some more detailed information about the event. We're excited to have you with us!

A Note About Our Events

The great joy of our work at the Redemptive Lab is the time we spend in person as a community with a cohort of founders. This is a unique time for each of us to unplug, be present, learn, listen, and encourage. While we know everyone is busy with much to do outside of the event, we ask that everyone be fully present during the entirety of this gathering. Our events are unlike a typical conference where you might be able to step away and take a call; they are customized for each participant, intentional, and relational -- each person plays a key role in each part of the day. Since we only spend 3 days in person together, we ask that founders plan to be completely unplugged during events, and that you plan your time accordingly.

Prepare Your 3-4 Minute Personal Story

  • Each founder will share an informal personal narrative on the first night amongst your peers and the Labs team before the event mentors arrive.

  • No decks needed for this! This is simply a time to share a condensed version of your life story or a major life inflection point with your peers - we do ask that you spend some time thinking about it in advance just to be considerate of time.

Preparing to be Present

  • Come to the event fully rested - the days are designed to maximize our time together; the schedule begins early each morning, and concludes late each evening, with optional social time to continue conversations; the days are packed and conversations are often intense.

  • Prepare your team and families with the expectation that you will be unplugged during the entire event.

  • Schedule time with your team for when you return to debrief the event.

Preparing for Mentor Sessions

  • Review the lab agenda .

  • Take time to prepare thoughts or questions that are not specific to your venture that will enrich the conversation & drive the mentors beyond basic 101 level content -- they are capable of such, but the session needs to stay out of the weeds to be able to get there.

  • Get to know the Mentors and their experience; think of questions as they relate to industries and sectors in which Mentors have expertise.

Weather & Attire

  • Dress code will be casual, but nice; some sessions will be outside, weather permitting.

  • We suggest layering and packing at least a hat and outdoor jacket.
